This is a huge restaurant in Old Town. We decided to go here because it was across the street from the Whaley House and there was no wait. We were a big group of 8 that Saturday evening. The decor is very cute with lots of seating inside and outside on their central patio. We were seated right away and our waiter took all our orders. This is a very busy restaurant with staff bustling around everywhere. They have delicious freshly made flour tortillas so I always try to order a dish with them. The portions are generous so most dishes can be shared if you want to split a meal or take the leftovers home. Everyone was happy with the orders. The shrimps in my dish was so good! Not overcooked and fresh.

Took a break from my San Diego business trip and headed to Old Town today! Decided to try Cafe Coyote for lunch—the staff was super friendly and the portions were huge! I accidentally ordered two dishes that were a bit too similar, but the cocktails were amazing. Definitely coming back next time.

A historic Mexican restaurant in Old town San Diego. The restaurant is huge offer multiple yummy dishes for family style. Their cocktail selection is great and of course I have to have a mojito when I was here. Crowded during dining hours, good to dine in big group.

During my visit to Old Town San Diego, this restaurant was the only one that was fully occupied. The portions were generous, and the cuisine was authentic Mexican. The ambiance was enhanced by pleasant music, and the servers were both helpful and entertaining. The overall dining experience was exceptional and delicious. During my second visit, the lobster was exceptionally delectable. We also indulged in another churro for dessert, accompanied by fried ice cream. However, the latter dessert lacked the characteristic crispiness of fried ice cream, resulting in a soggy crust.

The restaurant is located in Old Town the atmosphere is super fun. Loved the decorations and we had a great seat up on the second floor balcony. Came for Cinco De Mayo celebrations and all came in hungry. I forgot to take more pictures of the food. My hubby and I shared the Coyote plate which had Carne Asada and shrimp enchiladas. The carne asada was terrible, the cut of steak was cheap and very fatty. The enchiladas were delicious 😋 my daughter order the Birria Plate which I thought was good. My hubby said it was mid in his opinion. The kids had a cheese quesadilla and a bean and cheese burrito. They said that they enjoyed them. Overall the restaurant was not the best but great vibe and location are great.
