This spot is a don’t‑miss experience in Old Town San Diego—equal parts flavor, atmosphere, and soul. 😆 The restaurant gives full Sonoran Baja vibes: warm, vibrant, and coastal with bold flavors that feel rooted in tradition but elevated with intention. Every dish we ordered was a hit: Asada Norteño taco – rich, perfectly cooked, and deeply satisfying with a cheesey tortilla A la Diabla taco – fiery and fearless 🔥 Carnitas taco – tender, juicy, and full of depth which is a hit or miss for carnitas else where Ahi tostada – fresh and clean with beautiful balance, picked 4 hours ago per Zach Ceviche Loco tostada – bright, bold, and refreshing, also super fresh clamato flavor 👌🏽 Quesa birria taco – cheesy, comforting, and absolutely irresistible- husband's favorite The drinks matched the food perfectly. The Sonorita was a standout cocktail, and the horchata was smooth, lightly cream taste, and nostalgic in the best way. Service truly elevated the experience. Zach gave an incredible demonstration and breakdown of everything we ordered, sharing insight into the dishes while highlighting Chef Andres, whose talent is undeniable in every bite. Jim, our server, was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly—hospitality done right. Then comes the speakeasy—and the vibe shift is immaculate. Step inside and you’re transported into Catholic Gothic elegance: moody, dramatic, candle‑lit energy where it feels like you should do something holy… like a confession. 😉 Anna made the night extra special by crafting wonderful birthday shots for my husband and me—pineapple and tamarind flavored, thoughtful, festive, and delicious. A moment we won’t forget. From Sonoran Baja warmth to Gothic reverence, this place delivers a full experience. Come hungry, stay curious, and don’t forget to confess your sins at the door. 😉

Amazing spot! The food is absolutely delicious and all so fresh and carefully crafted for some really unique and excellent flavors. Some favorite dishes were the shrimp and birria tacos, corn croquetas, squash blossom, and the braised lamb tamale but every single thing we ate was so good. For dessert the Churros were to die for. They also have the largest selection of Mezcal and the cocktails are excellent and unique. A must try spot that we’ll definitely go back to again ASAP!

Absolutely amazing experience, food, atmosphere and service. Found this place by accident near my hotel and wished I found this place sooner. Food incredibly fresh, well portioned, and priced. Amazing service Danny (not sure if spelled correctly) is a fantastic waitress. I got the margarita one with tequila and one with Mezcal and three tacos one fish and two shrimp. Drink options were fantastic. I only wish I knew about this place earlier in my trip because I would have gone to eat there more!

Tahona has great dishes with very creative flavor pairings. The happy hour menu has great deals for appetizers; the quesadilla and empanadas were incredibly delicious! The tacos were all very good and the pozole had great flavor.

Wanted to try something new in Old Town and stumbled upon this place. Save the trip, everything was overly salty. I couldn’t believe even the Ahi in the tostada, very heavy handed in the salt. The Bao buns was salty as well. Empanadas had very little yellowtail but more potato filling. The tacos we got were salty.
