Poor House Brewing Company

Love this place! It's my neighborhood bar and it's fantastic! Micro-brewery making their own beer, seltzer and hop water for everyone! Their bartenders are friendly and helpful when you're wanting to try something new, or drinking your favorites! Doggies are always welcome, and it's fun to watch the ones who know they're going to get a treat from the doggie cookie jar in front! Their motto is "con cerveza no ha tristeza," and there are no words truer than that!

This hidden open-air gem in North Park is one of the most comfortable breweries you'll ever encounter. It's my go-to spot to unwind and watch sports! Not only are their dozens of homemade beers and seltzers absolutely delicious (yes, NUMEROUS flavors of seltzers, with their lemon being the best I have ever tasted!), they provide free food to their patrons...pizza, pasta, a full nacho bar...varies from day to day. It's a nice "thank you" to their customers which separates them from everyone else. Who else thanks their customers with a meal? No one! The staff is beyond friendly, and the place is just fun--locals mixed with tourists and beer enthusiasts, playing shuffleboard, foos ball, board games, or watching football, basketball, baseball, soccer or UFC (always free!) on their many TVs--both indoors and outdoors. Do yourself a favor and make this your new watering hole!

This brewery has the feel of how most breweries did 20 years ago, personable, divey, and extremely friendly. They have a wide selection of beers, not just IPAs, and unbelievably they had free Costco pizza the night I was there. In retrospect that was a super smart decision since we stayed and bought extra drinks.

I did not really know what to expect upon arrival. Very open and friendly venue with nice atmosphere. Customer service was a great experience fostering a communicative staff and customer base. Free nachos which is aways a bonus with all the fixings...

Great beers at an amazing price. Perfect atmosphere. Highly recommend if your looking for a good brew done right by people who obviously care about what they serve.
