My friend and I stopped in to try happy or Buzzy hour since they offer $1 oysters. On top of that they were kumiai, so I ordered a half dozen. They are served up deliciously with mignonette and horseradish! We also ordered the octopus ceviche that reminded me of a dish I had in Lisbon. My friend had the Surfliner Spritz, refreshing and crisp! And I couldn't resist the house Sauvignon Blanc for $6. I'd return to try more of the menu. The service was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is in a great location above Prospect with pleasing view and modern decor! HH 3-6 Daily!
View on Google ↗Exceptional Experience Visiting from out of town and celebrating a casual birthday. Found Beeside Balcony on a google search and wasn’t disappointed! Arrived 30mins before happy hour was over and ordered oysters, grilled oysters, meatballs, octopus, fries, and charcuterie. Amazing taste extravaganza! Very affordable…and Naomi our server was incredible. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality food at an affordable price point within walking distance of La Jolla Cove.

View on Google ↗Everything was awesome from start to finish. Service was excellent. Food was amazing. Believe what you read about the crab cake. The Cioppino was hearty and not overly spicy. Loved it. And the churros are seriously the way to end the meal.
View on Google ↗Me and my two girlfriends wanted to enjoy a nice sunset dinner. We saw online that Beeside Balcony had a beautiful outdoor seating so we booked a reservation for that night. We were immediately seated and got a tasty appetizer (trio dip). One of my friends ordered a burger and my other friend got the pesto linguine. My friend with the pasta first noticed a hair in her food- no big deal, it happens. She got a replacement pasta and my other friend was around 5 bites into her burger when puts down her burger and proceeds to pull half a rubber band out of her mouth. I can't make this stuff up. We were laughing out of shock and asked the busboy if she could get a replacement as well. I had the steak frites, they were pretty good, just a little more done than I had asked. Anyways, my friend gets her replacement burger, and is eating it when she notices a large chunk of uncooked potato had also made its way into her burger. We flagged down the same busboy, let him know. We never got his name but he had a buzz cut, and he was extremely embarrassed and even thought we were pranking him. Anyways we had a good laugh about it with him and he apologized. Our waiter came over to assess as well a little later. I don't want to assume or be rude, but we all got the feeling the waiter was almost blaming us, like he thought we were guilty? Not sure, he was just saying there were no rubber bands in the entire restaurant. We also had to ask to get a discount off the meal as I feel after finding 3 mystery items in our food it makes sense. Just a very weird experience overall, and I wish they had done more to ensure our food was ok after the first incident.
