Stopped by The Whiskey House early on a Friday morning around 11 a.m. and had an outstanding experience. The bartenders were awesome—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaged in conversation, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I started with a couple of Old Fashioneds, including The Japanese and The Smoking West, and both were excellent. The bartender then recommended a whiskey flight that turned out to be one of the highlights of my visit. Every pour was unique, and it was a great way to explore their incredible selection. For food, I took the bartender’s recommendation and ordered the red and green chilaquiles. They absolutely did not disappoint and paired perfectly with the drinks. What really sets this place apart is its massive whiskey collection. The Whiskey House is recognized by Guinness World Records for having one of the largest whiskey selections in the world, and today the collection has grown to well over 4,000 bottles. (Guinness World Records) Whether you’re a serious whiskey enthusiast or someone who normally doesn’t drink whiskey, this place is worth checking out. Great drinks, great food, and even better service make it a must-visit spot in downtown San Diego.

Amazing food and service from the bartender! We were waiting outside for the host and she came and grabbed us and took us to the bar. Ordered happy hour food and drinks and their $3 tequila shots for Tuesday. The crème brule was outstanding and the whiskey sour was just as good. Recommend trying their steak and fries!

The Whiskey House delivers a great experience overall. I ordered a bourbon flight, and my wife had a strawberry margarita—both were excellent. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and happy to talk through the whiskey selection, which really elevated the experience. For food, I had the NY strip steak. It was okay and a bit tough, but still enjoyable. My wife’s Caesar salad was fantastic, and everything else about the meal and drinks hit the mark. The ambiance is top-notch—warm, lively, and perfect for a night out. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, atmosphere, and service make it worth it. We’d absolutely come back, especially for the drinks and vibe.

GREAT FOR WHISKY LOVERS!! We were staying in downtown and currently into Scotch... what a better place than Whisky House! We really enjoyed it here, we went 3 times total. First time we went on a Sunday towards the end of the Padres regular season game. It was a bit warm inside, no AC or we couldn't feel it. It wasn't too busy because the game was going on but got pretty busy after the game ended. We ordered the Japanese Tasting #2 and I got the Killkeran 12. The 2nd time around we made it for Happy Hour and we ordered the Scotch Egg and Kale Salad. Then we ordered 3 Scotchs: Kilchoman Loch Gorm, Bladnoch 10 and the Lagavulin Offerman Rum Cask. Everything was good but the Kilchoman Loch Gorm was really nice! Our last time we were literally 1 minute away from needing to sit outside but we snagged an inside table. This was on a Friday around 5 pm, super busy! For Happy Hour food we shared the Pork Chop (Marinated in Scotch, thyme, rosemary & garlic). usually served with fries but got salad instead. For Whisky we got the Mortlach 12, Ardmore Tradition and Strathisla 12. I really liked the Mortlach, super meaty! Overall always great service and would recommend any Whisky Lover to come here!

This place was recommended by a friend - we went for happy hour, which is truly a great deal. We also tried a build your own charcuterie platter, in addition to all of the food and drink options. My boyfriend tried a bourbon that was recommended by our server, from the thousands of options. He enjoyed it immensely. The place was a vibe, and a great place for a date night. Happy hour is daily from 4-7 p.m. Highly recommended...
