The Rooftop by STK

The food is ok, the service is terrible. 1. Both my wife and I sat there, they only brought one menu for us to share whereas every other restuarant brings one menu for each person. I asked for a second menu the server gave a weird look , like why am I even asking for a second menu to order, we still didn't get a second menu and we had to share even after asking lol 2. I asked for silverware but somehow they brought only one for me and none for my wife. So we didn't ask again 3. We ask for paper napkin we got none 4. The server was chitchatting with a customer for so long that when she brought our food it was cold 5. My wife can't drink alcohol or have any drinks they didn't even ask or bring water! 6. Server never came to check on us to see how we are doing or if we want to order something else. We wanted to order desert but she never came back. I have no idea how this is ran by STK Just giving my constructive criticism from everything we saw today, hopefully it improves. There needs to be more training for staff here where the expected tip is at least 20 percent and a single burger is 29 dollars! Lol

Headed upstairs to watch the sun set over downtown. Good drinks, good view, great atmosphere! Furnishings were very comfortable and aesthetically appealing. Beautiful firepit. Great way to finish off a day of exploring the area.

In the heart of San Diego, The Rooftop by STK is not above the restaurant, but rather the Andaz Hotel. With that in mind, you’ll have to enter the hotel and head to the top. The space is really well maintained with decor that’s typical of the Andaz—modern with elements of pop art. There’s a giant mural of Aubrey Hepburn and co-ed bathroom entrances. That kind of vibe. There’s tons of outdoor seating and a giant bar where you can order food from STK. The menu is a little pricey, but expected because it’s downtown and a higher end hotel. There is a pool, but reserved for guests (I believe). I wish the view was better, but it’s still a nice rooftop. My girlfriend and I went during happy hour and the menu featured discounted drinks and shareable dishes. Again, it was pricey for what it was, but expected. The bartender provided excellent service, which is truly why I gave it four stars instead of three. If you’re looking to be outdoors and on a sunny San Diego day, this is a great option.

We had an excellent time. We had a large party and Margo gave us an excellent experience. She was attentive to us and showed really care for our group. Margo genuinely made the experience to something memorable and easy because of her.

Great rooftop dining area with a bar and outside seating right on top of the Andaz. Tried several of the breakfast menu options over the week and overall had a great experience with the food. So cal Benedict and the croissant sandwich stood out.
