Great atmosphere. Off the main street, so it is like a hidden gem. Ordered a bucket off food for 2 and it was too much for 3 people. Our server was friendly but he forgot one of our tables drink. It was an hour before closing and the employees were hovering and cleaning so it felt a bit rushed. Also had to ask for our dessert. The food was wonderful. It was nice and warm with the heaters. Worth the visit for the food. Would be 5 stars if the cleaning and such didn't happen at the level we experienced.
View on Google ↗The restaurant experience was good, not much wait for a table for 2. We were given chips and had to get ourselves the salsa at the endless salsa bar. The food overall was okay, the portion was fairly small considering the price. The chicken, and meat were salty and the only great meal was the ceviche and it’s an appetizer 😂

View on Google ↗Came here looking for some seafood and Mexican food and this place had both combined. Super friendly server and great atmosphere food was on point, difficult to decide what to get out I truly believe whatever you pick you gonna like it no matter what. This is now a must when we come visit San Diego
View on Google ↗ockin' Baja Lobster has the kind of energy that makes you want to roll up your sleeves — the lively atmosphere, the smell of fresh seafood, the promise of a serious feast. And for the most part, it delivers. The lobster is the star of the show: meaty, well-seasoned, and cooked with the kind of confidence that comes from a kitchen that knows what it's doing. We visited as a group of three, excited to dig into the crab and lobster spread. The food arrived looking impressive — a proper pile of shellfish that would have any seafood lover's eyes lighting up. That's when the fun (and the frustration) began. "Three people, one cracker. You do the math." Despite coming in a party of three, we were given just a single seafood cracker to share among us. Cracking through lobster and crab in rotation — waiting your turn while your food gets cold — is not exactly the dining experience anyone pictures when they sit down for a seafood feast. It made an otherwise enjoyable meal feel oddly stingy on the logistics side. The crab was another highlight in terms of flavor, but without any scissors at the table, getting to the good stuff was more of an ordeal than it needed to be. A simple pair of kitchen shears per person — or at least per table — would have transformed the experience. It's the difference between wrestling your dinner and actually enjoying it. Then there's the bill. At just over $200 for three people, this is not a cheap night out — and at that price point, the expectation for a complete, well-equipped dining experience goes up considerably. Sharing a single cracker and fighting through crab shells bare-handed feels a lot more forgivable at a casual $15-a-plate spot. At $65+ per person, you'd expect the kitchen to set you up properly from the start. The service was friendly enough, and the overall vibe is fun and casual, which suits the concept well. But when the whole point of a restaurant is hands-on shellfish eating, the tools provided should match both the ambition of the menu and the price on the check. Rockin' Baja has the right ingredients for a great outing — they just need to make sure every guest has what they need to fully enjoy them. The Verdict Worth a visit for the seafood quality and lively atmosphere, but at $200 for three people, the experience needs to match the price tag. A few simple fixes — proper tools for every diner, scissors for the crab — would easily bump this from a good meal to a great one. Highlights Flavorful, well-cooked lobster Fun, casual atmosphere Generous seafood portions Friendly service Room to Improve One cracker for three people No scissors for the crab $200 for 3 — tools should match
