We went here for lunch because we wanted fish and it was pretty solid. You order up front and then they bring it to your table. They also have a lot of seating both inside and outside and it looks like a shack almost. We had the poke bowl, the smoked salmon sandwich, and the shrimp ceviche. The poke bowl was very good and had a good amount of meat on it. We wanted a few more wonton chips with it and would have liked it more if the cucumbers were cut up instead of in full slices. But the flavor was good. We also had the smoked salmon sandwich on sourdough bread. While the sandwich itself was good, the bread did not taste like sourdough. The rest of the sandwich was decent. The shrimp ceviche was also good. It was a bit too liquid at the bottom so you were left with a lot of juice at the bottom. The shrimp was super good though and the ceviche itself was tasty. It is a bit spicy so keep that in mind as well. The place has all sorts of fish and overall you won't be disappointed with any of it. But it also is not the most amazing fish place you will go to.
View on Google ↗If you want to have the most delicious clam chowder you'll ever eat, their Fish Shop chowder is what you're looking for. The soup was thick and creamy, delightfully smoky from the andouille sausage, and had giant meaty clam pieces in it. If there's one thing to order from here, it's definitely the Fish Shop chowder. We also ordered the fish shop shrimp which was delicious too. The marinade they use for the shrimp creates a spicy and zesty crust when seared, and the shrimp itself is incredibly juicy (not to mention huge!). Staff was polite and helpful, and the food came out pretty quickly. Our family wanted a quick, casual lunch before we went to Mission Beach, and this place was the perfect choice. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in the area and want quality seafood.
View on Google ↗Had swordfish for the first time at Fish Shop and they did not disappoint. I got the grilled swordfish plate with rice and veggies, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The swordfish had a great char on it, was tender, and honestly made me want to order it again. Really solid spot if you want something fresh and filling in San Diego. I’d definitely be back.
View on Google ↗The restaurant was a bit smaller than I expected and took a moment to understand the menu but still has a free experience. We ordered a few amazing dishes to share! Loved the coconut shrimp!
View on Google ↗I’ve been to similar restaurants, and this one was completely overrated. The food was just okay. For the price, I expected much better quality. I ordered a salad, and it came with no dressing, even though they asked me twice when I placed the order. I also paid extra for avocado, and it didn’t come with it. Very disappointed.
