The Banshee Bar

As far as I know the owners of The Banshee are a woman and her son, I have known them since the change of ownership of SPACE to the now Banshee. I rarely frequented the bar/venue. When I arrived I paid the $5 cover for the night and entered the venue and said Hi to the woman, she was happy to see me as I was happy to see her. It had been some time since I had been there. We talked for a bit. She is not to blame in this one star review. Her son’s hostile behavior and his getting in my face TWICE, first about the woman being married which i thought was ridiculous because that was known and the second time telling me not to communicate with her, which aside from recently wishing her a happy holiday I only communicated with her for business purposes. That made feel very uneasy. After he questioned me the first time I walked away and i was watching the band I was there to see and he got in my face again in a very hostile manner. Because of his extremely hostile behavior and body language I decided it was time for me to leave and I went out the back door. I am definitely not going back there due to the owners extremely hostile behavior

The staff and the vibe here are great! I was skeptical when ownership changed from Space bar but it was an improvement. Great bands, great energy and great bartenders. Rachel, Lex and Ian are some of my favorite people to interact with when they’re bartending. The Dive bar experience is exactly what you would want! Also they do happy hour all day on Mondays!

Best dive bar in north park. I’ve been here since space and into the new owners. They’ve really changed this place in a good way. I love coming here weekly and I love the bartenders here. Shout out to lex, Racheal, Dereck, and t for being the best. I recently celebrated my birthday here and I couldn’t have spent it anywhere else but here! Love you guys

Great little dive bar, they have a lot of live music and yummy drinks! The staff is super sweet and friendly. The place is really clean and has a nice vibe, Free pool too.

This is the best bar in SD. Coolest bathrooms :)))), we loved it and will be back many many more times. Banshee RULES!!!!! Just make sure you’re not a creep, they don’t tolerate creeps which i really like.
