DAVID IS THE BEST! My girlfriend and I, plus our dog Bella Tactical, were walking the beach looking for food when Johnny Mañanas popped up. Beach walk hunger is real, so we rolled the dice and went for it. Solid decision. She ordered the cheesy carne asada taco and a regular carne asada taco and crushed both. I went with the two fish tacos and a side of guacamole and chips. The tacos didn’t stand a chance. The fish tacos were really good and the guac disappeared faster than planned. Now, honest moment. The horchata wasn’t as sweet as we like. We’re Mexican. Sweet is kind of our thing. It wasn’t bad, just not “abuelita-approved” sweet. But here’s the kicker. The customer service completely saved the day. The guy who took our order and brought out the food was top notch. Super friendly, wiped down a table for us without us asking, and just genuinely on point. If it wasn’t for this guy, my night might’ve gone sideways, but instead he earned this place five stars by himself. Great food, awesome service, chill Ocean Beach vibes, and a happy dog. That’s a win. Thanks, guys. I’ll definitely be back.

This was a great lunch choice for our visit to OB. The vibe was great, with an awesome all day weekend happy hour (can we get a shout out for $3 draft beers please?). Our server was super friendly and attentive and they had plenty of seating both inside and out. Our tacos were great, with lots of fillings and garnish. We loved how the tortillas held up without tearing. No spills is always a good thing. The carnitas were flavorful and the Baja fish was crunchy without excess oil. Definitely a return option on our trip.

Best pollo asado burritos in OB. Their habanero salsa is also one of my favorite toppings probably ever. Their customer service is also always great. They’re very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is always very clean. My only bit of criticism is that the decor and vibe of the restaurant doesn’t fit OB. It feels like a PB building was picked up and placed in OB. This turned my wife away of the place since it opened. We don’t want PB vibes on Newport. I’d appreciate a more authentic OB atmosphere.

Tacos and drinks are absolutely fantastic. Paul made the best margaritas as well. I had the beer battered fish and the surf and turf tacos both of which were excellent. Hibiscus margarita and the regular margarita gave me a great buzz and tasted great.

I’ve been coming here on/off for at least 20 years and never been disappointed. I love the casual and colorful atmosphere, good vibes, and absolutely delicious Mexican food. Bathroom available for customers. Surprisingly nice alcoholic drink selection. I ordered a basic carne taco and margarita. It’s a great spot when you want to have the good vibes/food/drinks without the expense!
