The Market Place

Great spot that cracks out a huge variety of delicious food. Sandwhiches Are the star but don't skip the burritos and salads. Good spot for a group as they have quite a selection for grab and go lunches. We love the torpedo and the Californian. Dutch crunch bread sets them apart from other top level liquor store deli type places and wide variety of other things you can pick up in the spot. Only thing to know is this is not really a dine in place. Order, grab and go. Great stu.

I stopped by The Market Place and it turned out to be a great local spot for a quick and satisfying meal. The place feels like a classic neighborhood deli and market, but the food quality is surprisingly good. Their sandwiches are the highlight—fresh bread, generous portions, and really flavorful fillings. I especially liked how many options they have, from hot deli sandwiches to pizza and fresh salads. Everything is made quickly, so it’s perfect when you want something tasty without waiting too long. Overall, it’s a simple but reliable place with friendly service and solid comfort food. A great stop if you’re near Balboa Park and craving a good sandwich.

Good is always good... particularly the pizza! Service is great. Even the atmosphere is good. The ONLY reason I gave it a 4 is because it's kinda loud in there when it's busy and people's names are being shouted to let them know orders are ready... and I'm very sensitive to sound. But that's a me issue. They have tons of healthy choices when it comes to potato chips as well, which I love.

We were at the zoo and starving, left and came here then ate our food at the zoo. One of the best Philly Cheesesteaks i’ve ever had. All of the sandwiches looked like something I would love. Free parking lot. Cheap drinks and lots of snack options. The salads and take home goods all looked good too. No tables to eat at, but good food to takeout.

Great place. Half deli, half market. Plenty of fresh made food to choose from right up front when you are in a hurry.
