NOLA on 5th

The patio/ambiance is wonderful here. We came for lunch on a Sunday, and unfortunately they were super understaffed. Our server did the best he could. The sweet potato fries were delicious, but the rest of the food was just eh okay to me. Nothing really special.

Had the place almost to ourselves as a group of 8 for dinner. Service was good and accommodating. Portions were HUGE! Got a cup of the red beans and rice on happy hour and it could have easily been a whole meal for two. The po boys were tasty and messy. Jambalaya had a little spice but not a ton of flavor. Pretzel bites, wings and cheese curds were good appetizers. Definitely worth a try if you like New Orleans style food.

My partner had the Shrimp Po'boy w/ Jambalaya, I had Fried catfish and a bowl of gumbo... catfish was a little thin, but still yummy! My partner said his dish took him back home! He's from the 7th Ward in NOLA! We recommend this spot!

I ordered off uber, which is probably mistake number one because I didn't get to see the restaurant first. I just came back from NOLA and have been craving nonstop creole and cajun food. I found this place and ordered... the Jambalaya did not have enough chicken or shrimp, and only had some sad sausage that didn't even look like the sausage used in NOLA. The Gumbo (which I ordered) looked like etouffee. Gumbo is supposed to be dark and full of flavor... I'm pretty sure they gave me etouffee. The criminal part though was the red beans and rice, they used pinto beans... and I know my beans, I'm mexican. I appreciate the garlic bread, even though in NOLA they give you biscuits, so again, points docked for authenticity. The cherry on top however, was that annoying green onion they added to everything! I just about cried... I just wanted from creole from NOLA and this place ain't it...

The first time I came here, the food was great so I thought I try NOLA again for the second time and bring a friend with me. But wow!!! you guys really disappointed me this time around and I hate that I recommended this place to my friend. We arrived at 7:40pm yesterday close to closing time so the server was kind of rushing us to order. We received our drinks first which were really delicious but once my food came out, I noticed the catfish was overly cooked and the jambalaya was dried out. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I ate most of it anyways but after leaving the restaurant I immediately felt off and the food wasn’t settling in my stomach at all. The restaurant closed already by the time I went back so I waited to call the manager in the morning and to tell him how I got sick over the food and if he can remake or fix the problem but he had no sympathy and said it’s nothing that he could do now”it’s something that should’ve brought up to the server before I paid” So to all the new people ready to come visit NOLA, I highly recommend that you don’t come around closing time and to please be aware on how your food is coming out and speak up right away because they will not compensate you if you wait
