Jimmy's Famous American Tavern - Point Loma

Delicious food with great views of the marina. I recommend the French Dip which was both large and flavorful. The meat was tender, and the au jus was the perfect compliment. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and you can make reservations ahead of time online. The restaurant is in the back of the building and not visible from the road or parking lot. Nice spot for a meal and then a walk along the waterfront afterwards!

While staying in shelter island we found this great place to dine at. The food was amazing and our server was so nice. Sometimes a restaurant is so great you automatically know you’ll be back. Even when you are out of town visitors. I look forward to our next visit here. My steak and shrimp was 100% worth every dollar spent. Did I mention the best Brussels sprouts? Yum!

Great experience by the water! Not many places in Point Loma give you this nice of a view of the sunset while eating and the food didn’t disappoint! Wide variety of local beers and well crafted cocktails as well. There’s a shared parking lot for a low price

Valentine’s Day dinner, and our only time here so not sure how a “regular” night would be but the staff was great and accommodating. We arrived about an hour before our reservation and they were still able to get us a table right away. The service was terrific - Connor was knowledgeable and had great positive energy. Atmosphere was also great. Right next to the water (marina) and we sat outside. Food was excellent. Fish tacos (which is a San Diego must) were amazing! Even though it only came with 2 tacos it felt like enough since there was also a side of delicious homemade crispy tortilla chips. The tacos were also topped with this avocado sauce that just tied everything together.

Really liked this place had outdoor and indoor seating. Our waiter was so nice and attentive and everybody else in the staff was really good. I got the grilled fish sandwich and it was perfect. Fish was nice and juicy sourdough breading was crisp and cooked well.
