We had our wedding reception at JRDN at Tower23, and it was absolutely wonderful. We wanted an intimate dinner reception that felt beautiful, special, and relaxed, and JRDN ended up being the perfect place for it. The space was gorgeous and exactly what we were hoping for. It felt elevated and coastal without being overly formal, and it created such a beautiful atmosphere for our family to celebrate together. Our whole family enjoyed themselves, and everyone kept commenting on how lovely the evening was. The food was incredible. Our family is still talking about how delicious everything was, and huge compliments to Chef Dwayne and the culinary team. The dinner felt thoughtful, beautifully executed, and genuinely memorable. The drinks were also excellent, and the service throughout the night was smooth and attentive. Elijah was there the night of the event and made sure everything ran smoothly. He was helpful, calm, and attentive, and we really appreciated having him there to oversee the evening. Katrina was also amazing throughout the planning process. She went above and beyond to help make sure everything was right for our day, answered questions, helped coordinate details, and made us feel taken care of leading up to the wedding. JRDN gave us exactly the kind of reception we wanted: beautiful, intimate, delicious, and memorable. We are so grateful to Katrina, Elijah, Chef Dwayne, and the entire JRDN/Tower23 team for helping make our wedding night so special.

Celebrated our 17 year wedding anniversary here last night and it was Amazing. The atmosphere was so nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor seating with an ocean view. The heat towers and lamps kept the temperature out there perfect as it was a bit cold out. We ordered the Roulette Roll-delicous and portion was perfect, the Ceasar Salad -large portion perfectly dressed, great flavor, and we added the chicken and it was grilled and so moist, my husband had the 10 oz Filet Mignon - cooked just right (they do offer 3 sauces to choose from, but for an additional $4 dollars... this should be included and just given in a smaller portion or a small sample of each sauce with the steak especially since you are paying $61 dollars it should be included), I had the Wagyu Burger with Regular Fries (it comes with truffle fries, but I don't like mushrooms so I substituted them)- the burger cooked medium had tons of flavor and the fries were crispy and delicious, last we had the twice baked potato- super creamy with chives on top we ate the whole thing even the peel. The waiter did suprise us with a small dessert cake for our anniversary, but he shouldn't have put it on the bill and then credited us as we didnt even ask for it. Overall we will be back ❤️

Great dinner from starters to dessert! Mussels were great! We asked if they could spice it up a little bit. They did! Perfect sauce. I ordered the Tuna. Wife got the halibut. She loved it. Then for dessert we ordered the hot bread with ice vanilla cream scoop in middle. Had banana sauce.

We had dinner at JRDN in Pacific Beach last week, just my daughter and me, and it turned into one of those meals that lingers in your head long after the table is cleared. There is a new energy in the room right now. Executive Chef Dwayne Gale has reworked the menu, and you can taste the intent. It is thoughtful, a little bold, and clearly coming from someone who knows exactly what he wants to put on a plate. We started with the Lobster Tacos and Bone Marrow Crab Cakes. The lobster tacos alone are worth the trip. JRDN handcrafts their flour tortillas with finely cut chives pressed right into the dough before they hit the heat. You catch the aroma before the plate even lands. The lobster is not an afterthought either. Generous, sweet, perfectly cooked. This is how you do it when you actually respect the ingredient. Then the bone marrow crab cakes show up and things get serious. Rich, unapologetic bone marrow with a beautifully executed crab cake perched on top. It is indulgent in a way that makes you pause for a second, take a sip of your drink, and go right back in for another bite. The cioppino was fire. Deep, layered, briny in all the right ways, with seafood that tastes like it had somewhere better to be than sitting in a pot all day. This was alive. The scallops were dialed in. Hard sear, tender center, no nonsense. And the smoked margaritas with grilled and dried pineapple garnish. That smoky edge, the caramelized fruit, the citrus cutting through it all. It is the kind of drink that makes you slow down and stay a little longer than you planned. What sealed it was Chef Gale coming out to the table. No ego, no performance. Just a guy who clearly cares, talking food, checking in, making sure the experience lands the way it should. That kind of presence matters. You feel it in the room and you taste it on the plate. Highly recommend JRDN right now. This is a kitchen with something to say, and it is saying it well.

JRDN has been here for over two decades! It’s our go to right on the beach and pier with awesome views. No bad seats. Plenty of open space and great for large groups. Street parking only, many small paid lots and they valet for first two hours free since it’s linked to the hotel Tower23. I had a work party of 20 during lunch that rolled over to happy hour past 3pm! It’s basically tourist price in exchange for the local view. Food can be a hit or miss. They serve mainly seafood. Although you’ll find short rib sliders or chicken sandwich. -Crispy calamari - delicious batter but weird that they threw in broccoli and peppers when it could have been all calamari -Steamed mussels - this was the best. Had two sourdough slices and the tomato purée had tons of flavor -Ceviche - the chips were stale -Ahi nachos - needed more sauce and filling. Not enough poke to chip ratio. I got mainly a blank chip. -Short rib sliders - many people ordered this and said it was very dry -Roulette roll - most popular roll. I fairly enjoyed the crunch in each bite. Got a Raspberry mojito. It was strong and refreshing but gave me a fat headache later. Must be the rum. We were limited to 8 credit cards but since it was down time, our server was willing to go around to allow us to pay our individual tabs. Thanks, Jaz!
