Rubio's Coastal Grill

I recently stopped by Rubio's and had a mostly positive experience! I used a promotional discount, which made the meal an even better value. ​I ordered a burrito, as well as a salad bowl with steak and salmon. The food was pretty good overall, though I felt the bowl was just a tiny bit missing something to make it a bit more fresh and lively. However, the service really stood out—the manager and the person at the front counter were both exceptionally helpful and welcoming. ​As a huge plus, the churros were absolutely amazing! I'll definitely be back, especially for those.

Last customer in to Rubio’s, totally unaware of the closing time….the manager explained that unfortunately it was closing time BUT then she did something amazing and shared with me that she had a little steak left and that I could have it if I wanted…I was super excited and so grateful of her sweet treatment of kindness! Graciously adding that this was my very first experience at Rubio’s…what a Friend! And we know that friendliness yields satisfaction and customer satisfaction yields return visits to Rubio’s! 🥳 Happy New Year! Cheers to the manager and team at Rubio’s Mission Valley

They said you get $5 off when you sign up. Its doesn't work. Its a SCAM SCAM SCAM!!

Edit: this review is for a specific experience. But another general complaint is no longer being able to place an order by phone. You can only do it on the app now, which is incredibly dangerous when you're on the move. If I want Rubio's but I'm driving around for work or errands, I'll just take my business elsewhere. Good job discouraging spending and not providing customer service. I'm surprised if someone picks up at all... It's also discriminatory for people who are visually impaired and can't see an app or website the same way others can. ### The nachos and chicken were less flavorful than usual, which was disappointing. The biggest issue was with the person contracted for delivery, though. Looks like DoorDash in this case. After picking up, they took around 25 minutes to get here from the restaurant, on a nonsensical route, when it's only about 10 minutes away. The food was no longer hot, the guacamole had browned, and my nachos were soggy by that point. I'm guessing they either were doing multiple deliveries without any notification or they are contracting for multiple services simultaneously and disrupting the route.

I'm not big on seafood but their chicken tacos are so delicious and my fiance absolutely loves their bacon shrimp burrito! Want to point out that their beans are even better than what I've experienced at some of pricier restaurants too. Clean location, friendly service and consistently yummy food - ample parking as well.
