Sidecar Bar

The Sidecar is what I’d call an elevated dive bar — relaxed, welcoming, and unpretentious, but with drinks that are seriously well made. The bartender is a true mixologist who clearly understands technique. She made me a fantastic Manhattan! They also have an impressive list of local beers. Outside is a food cart that’s worth the trip all by itself. We ordered the smashburger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The chef brings everything in fresh daily (no freezer), the fries are hand-cut, and there are something like 20 different sauces to try with them. The people here are friendly, the vibe is easygoing, and the quality of both the cocktails and food is outstanding. If you’re visiting San Diego, it’s absolutely worth a trolley ride to get here. This easily ranks among my top five dive bars anywhere.

Sidecar is such a great spot—laid-back vibe, excellent cocktails, and just an all-around fun atmosphere. Huge shout-out to the bartender Kyle. Super friendly, attentive, and clearly knows his craft. He made great recommendations and kept the energy fun without being over the top. If you’re looking for a solid cocktail, good service, and a place that feels welcoming from the moment you walk in, Sidecar absolutely delivers. Will definitely be back.

They only offer burgers so if you like burgers then by all means, enjoy yourself. The service was great bartenders were polite and attentive. The atmosphere is cool not very diverse but still chill. Overall I enjoyed myself having drinks and watching basketball.

Excellent bar, always a great atmosphere. Bartenders are highly personable and fun to interact with. Met many great people there and always look forward to going back.

Upset that I lived so close to this bar and I didn’t hear about it sooner. Food was so good! We got the Cajun Fries (so mf good) Chicken Slider and the Buffalo Max and cheese all for $24 and made to order. Pool table is 75c and not only do they have many cues but they are decent quality. You need to play the hunting game and buy 3 rounds not 1, it’s $3 per person but it’s so fun. I think we spent $18 at that game and I plan on doing it again. Cheap alcohol, great food and good people - will 100% be coming back.
