Went to Tako on a Saturday night and the atmosphere and aesthetic in the lights is really a vibe. I went here with my girlfriend and Drew took really good care of us. She had an awesome personality and served us even though we came late and the kitchen was closing. The food is really quality and is sates the palate. I would definitely come back here. The sushi tacos are really good and The Pantera role will not let you down. 100% recommend to anyone.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Miley, Drew, McKenzie, and Cody all provided exceptional service throughout our visit. There was a small miscommunication with our reservation, but they handled it professionally, quickly, and with such a positive attitude that it never impacted our experience. Instead, they turned it into an opportunity to show just how customer-focused they are. The entire team created a fun, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Their friendliness, teamwork, and attention to detail really stood out. Thank you, Miley, Drew, McKenzie, and Cody, for going above and beyond—we’ll definitely be back!

Just reopened with a completely upgraded menu & look! It's soo nicely done. The rolls are sooooo delicious. They are now open after their renovations. The service was amazing! They have a cute new bartender too.

The fact that we got charged full price for a mocktail is wild. $21 for a drink without alcohol is absurd. The food was meh, and so was the atmosphere/decor. The tables are microscopic, and had no space to put our food. The plantain appetizer had great flavor, but would have been better with a piece of fried seaweed instead of the plantains, which had an awkward texture. The sushi was overpriced for what it was. I’d rather go to Sushi Deli, but we had fun and enjoyed the music. Definitely a one and done for me.

Tako Sushi - A New Hidden Gem in Old Town San Diego Tako Sushi is a fantastic new speakeasy that brings a fresh twist to Old Town San Diego. Despite being open for just a few weeks, this place already feels like a well-oiled machine. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is perfect for a night out with friends or a cozy date. We started with the plantain appetizer, which was a delightful surprise—crispy, sweet, and perfectly seasoned. The highlight, though, was the Aguachile Roll. It was bursting with flavor, with just the right amount of heat and freshness. The specialty cocktails were another standout. They’re unique, creative, and truly elevate the dining experience. Whether you’re into something fruity or prefer a more classic twist, you won’t be disappointed. The decor was great and the DJ in the corner was playing some great tracks. We’re definitely coming back. For a new spot, they’ve really nailed it. If you’re in Old Town, make sure to check out Tako Sushi—you won’t regret it!
