Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Happy Hour Finder (“we”) helps people in San Diego find happy hour deals. This policy explains the limited data we collect and why. We try to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage analytics. On your first visit we create a random anonymous ID stored in your browser (cookie / localStorage). We attach it to events like searches, venue views, and clicks on directions/website links so we can understand which deals are useful and show restaurants that the app sends them customers. This ID is not tied to your identity unless you choose to sign up.
- Email (optional). If you sign up to be notified about new deals, we store your email address and link it to your anonymous activity. Signup is never required to use the app.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your name, location history, payment information, or any sensitive personal data. We don’t sell your personal information.
Analytics providers
We store events in our own database, and may mirror the same anonymous events to PostHog (a product-analytics tool) to understand retention. Aggregate, per-restaurant engagement numbers may be shared with restaurants as counts (e.g. “120 directions taps this month”), but never your individual identity.
Your choices (California / CCPA)
You can opt out of analytics at any time using the “Opt out” button in the cookie notice; this stops event tracking on your device. You can also clear your browser storage to reset your anonymous ID. To request deletion of an email you signed up with, contact us.
