Lucrezia La Jolla

We had a great experience at Lucrezia! We ordered the chef’s special tomahawk steak, Brussels sprouts, and tagliatelle pasta, and everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the entire meal felt special from start to finish. A special shoutout to our server, Aleksandra, who was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. She even surprised us with a complimentary dessert for my best friend’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the night even more memorable. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Lucrezia to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service!

I’ve read a lot of reviews about their service but their service was superb! We were helped by Aleksandra and she was very attentive and friendly. She gave us great recommendations for their dishes and the other gentleman, Stefano also helped us with great wine recommendation that paired really well with our selection of dishes. If there’s anything- Spaghetti alle vongole could’ve done better job with mantecare and it was a little bit too lemony for my liking. Their lamb chops were perfect with delicious herbs and tomatoes. Their spaces between tables are a little bit tight but Lucrezia is a great place to bring your date!

The space is peppered with personality—from the whimsical row of ceramic roosters guarding the top shelf of the bar to the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves stocked with high-design monographs on Bauhaus and Calatrava. Whether you’re tucked into a plush, striped booth beneath vibrant, modern portraiture or lounging on the sun-drenched patio amidst lush greenery, the vibe is undeniably "pleasant" in that effortless, upscale California way. Service & Spirit A restaurant of this caliber lives or dies by its hospitality, and the staff here truly shines. The service was nothing short of amazing—attentive without being intrusive, and possessing that rare ability to make a standard lunch feel like a special occasion. The Culinary Experience The kitchen clearly knows its craft. The food was consistently excellent, presenting dishes that are as visually appealing as they are flavorful. It’s the kind of place where the ingredients are allowed to speak for themselves, prepared with a level of precision that justifies its reputation. The Verdict Now, for the "obvious" elephant in the room: excellence comes with a commensurate price tag. Lucrezia is unapologetically pricey. For a party of three, expect a lunch bill in the neighborhood of $250—and that’s with a very modest beverage order (in our case, a single glass of beer). For the impeccable service, the stunning surroundings, and the high-quality fare, it’s a price many will find worth paying for a slice of the sweet life in La Jolla.

I’ve been waiting a long time to come & finally try Lucrezia… and I’m sad to report that it’s everything that I was worried it was going to be. The food tasted like I was eating at a mall & this mall usually WOW’s when it comes to food. The food was on the same level as Olive Garden except at least that have free bread. The ambience was absolutely beautiful but that may have been what they blew their whole budget on. For their high priced items, I expected a high-value of food & was very disappointed. If you find yourself in La Jolla wanting Italian food, do yourself a favor & go anywhere else (Marisi, Piatti, etc.). If you find yourself at the mall wanting cool ambience WITH good food, do yourself a favor & go anywhere else (Javier’s, Din Tai Fung, etc.).

Lucrezia is absolutely charming! We walked by it for years going to Javiers and I can tell you this is not something to miss. I can't believe we did not find it sooner. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is incredibly charming, and the service is impeccable. We had a large party and there was something for everyone. My daughter thought the pizza was the best! And I will say the butterfly drink is not to be missed - delicious and beautiful.
