Pasta was a little too chewy, and I liked the pizza crust edge, but it was a little too floppy at the middle. If there's a way to maintain the texture of the edge crust while making the middle a little less floppy that'd be great
First time dining at the Haven Pizzeria. I enjoyed the Fig Spritz. I tried one other specials which was the Mamma Mia Pizza. I believe it had pepperoni, ricotta cheese, basil and hot honey. For dessert I had the chocolate panna cotta... it came with whipped cream and nuts however I do not want the whipped cream. As you can see from the picture, you can't really see the panna cotta because there were just too many nuts in this desert. The chocolate panna cotta was good. For two drinks, two pizzas and two desserts it was just over $100.00, excluding the tip. They have their own little parking lot which is great but there's a fair amount of street parking and in the surrounding area. This little restaurant is just right off the 15 freeway.
This place was so good! Would definitely recommend and come again. We were looking for kid friendly & gluten free, which can be difficult a lot of times. Eating here was awesome! Lots of kids menu options (thank you!) and almost the entire menu can be made gf (double thank you!!). The taste was SO good too! They also had a great vegan menu. The shrimp appetizer was a little small for the price, but the walnut pesto sauce it came with was so good! We loved the mushroom pizza, GF pizza, and kids meal pizzas. 12/10 would come back.
Hidden gem in Kensington! One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been in San Diego. Loved the pizza toscana, feel like every bite I had was better than the last. The best alla vodka with bacon I’ve had in over ten years, couldn’t stop eating it. We sat on the dog friendly patio which has heaters. The service was excellent and food comes out quick. Must go!
CATERING REVIEW - I placed an order for about 35 people for delivery to a nearby location for a rehearsal dinner. The location dropped the ball on our arrival time, but Arturo was quick to get me on the phone and adapt to the situation. Our breadsticks, salads and pizzas were delivered hot and all of our guests commented on how delicious the food was. Since we were close by, Arturo was even able to deliver the desserts a little later so they remained cold on the hot day. I absolutely recommend the food and the catering offering as well.
