This place is a hidden gem! The beer selection is amazing, and the back patio seating is fantastic — beautiful, spacious, and filled with plenty of sunlight. The happy hour is fantastic too, making it an even better spot to relax and enjoy.
A really laid back unpretentious dive bar. Business in the front with karaoke and party in the back with the patio. Good craft beer selection, friendly staff, and clean. What more do you want? Say hi to Fuzzy!
Loved the pictures and signs on the wall. The traditional music was fun to hear. Bar service was slow and people seemed cliquey. Guinness was good, Sprite was very sugary. Went back a month later and woman bar tender was super nice and fast! Tuesday nights have traditional music and it was still going on when we arrived a bit before 10pm!
The Ould Sod is a couple steps above a Dive Bar, it's got some festive Irish decor and leather boothes, but still feels old and dingy. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the crowd is casual and friendly. Most importantly, Karoake on Friday and Saturday nights! The overall talent level is mostly average to poor, so it's one of the few places I have the courage to sing.
I went to The Old Sod at about 1 a.m., ordered a beer, and had my first one finished by 1:30. They close at 2, so I went to order another, but was told, “sorry, we’re all closed up.” This was basically my cue to leave—even though it was still a half hour before their posted closing time. On top of that, the Guinness was awful. The female bartender didn’t even give it time to settle—just poured and handed it over. It tasted sour and overly bitter, nothing like it should. If you’re looking for a good Guinness and decent service, I wouldn’t waste your time here. Two stars… actually, one.
